JASPER
MALIGNE CANYON ICEWALK
TOUR JASPER
This is one of Jasper’s most
popular and impressive winter
adventures. The tour guide will
take you to bottom of the Maligne
Canyon – the deepest accessible
canyon in Jasper National Park
– explore frozen waterfalls,
ice caves, and incredible ice
formations. Learn about Jasper’s
Maligne Valley, Karst topography,
and the mystery of the
“disappearing” Medicine Lake.
LAKE LOUISE
ICE SKATING
Come enjoy the winter wonderland on beautiful Lake Louise. Each
year the team creates an intricate Ice Castle from huge blocks
of ice to highlight the world’s most spectacular skating rink. The
massive Victoria Glacier and snow-frosted Rocky Mountains
provide a backdrop worthy of Broadway for skating on Lake Louise.
An additional rink is available for hockey enthusiasts. Skating is
available from mid-December to mid-April, depending on weather
conditions. The rink itself is open all day and complimentary to use.
BANFF JASPER
Marvel at stilled waterfalls
and dazzling pillars of blue
while exploring this magical
winter wonderland. Day
begins with a 30-minute
drive to the trail, located
on the scenic Bow Valley
Parkway. After donning
special ice cleats, journey
up the lower canyon on
numerous suspended
catwalks to reach the Lower
Falls. We continue the trek
onward and upward until we
arrive at the grotto of the
spectacular Upper Falls. This trip is an excellent
introduction to white water
rafting. Travelling approximately
9-kilometres, encounter many
Class 2 white water rapids.
Commentary on the human and
natural history will be provided
during the calm stretches. In
rain or shine, people from ages
6 to 90 have greatly enjoyed this
memorable experience. Join the
fun and incomparable views of
Jasper National Park with the
National Park licensed guide
on the Athabasca River. Wet
suits, neoprene booties and life
jackets will be provided.
