Select Engineering Services Automatic Injury Detection ( AID ) System is comprised of thin lightweight , flexible mylar panels inserted into the officers body armor with sensors that detect when the wearer has been attacked ( panel has been pierced by bullet , knife or shrapnel ) and automatically sends an emergency alert with GPS location to phone , radio & communication systems - even when the officer is incapacitated - to improve response time and save lives .
