The 2019-2020 fiscal year was a different one for all of us as we faced many challenges . A worldwide pandemic , social unrest , and changes to the way we interact and work together – throughout it all , our team continues to show dedication to excellence , shows compassion , embraces wellness , and empowers each other and those we serve .
So many things happened this year , and the most widely known was the COVID-19 pandemic . We were challenged and adapted . We have continued to provide services to the children and families who need our support .
Our community was directly impacted by social unrest as many racial injustices were the leading headlines , dominating discussions on social media , and inspiring conversations among colleagues and friends . The Home has taken a stand against racism and we are actively working to become an anti-racist organization .
Kentucky ’ s record on child and family welfare is among the worst in the nation . The Commonwealth stated its intention to be one of the first states in the nation to implement the Family First Prevention Services Act ( FFPSA ). In 2020 , we began our Multisystemic Therapy program . Our organization is at the forefront of this treatment in our state , contributing to the prevention of family separation and understanding the effect of trauma on everyone .
Our work would not be possible without your unwavering support , especially during this pandemic . Your contributions never go unnoticed and we are deeply appreciative of all you do for our organization and the children and families as we enrich their lives with hope , health , and happiness .
