Julia Levashina , Ph . D ., professor of human resource management and co-author , Nicolas Roulin , Ph . D ., associate professor of psychology at St . Mary ’ s University in Canada , were awarded the SIOP 2020 Jeanneret Award for Excellence in the Study of Individual or Group Assessment . This annual award , honoring P . Richard Jeanneret , is given to the author ( s ) of a work judged to have the highest potential to further the understanding of individual or group assessment , especially when such assessment supports the creation of a diverse workforce .
Levashina and Roulin published “ LinkedIn as a New Selection Method : Psychometric Properties and Assessment Approach ,” in Personnel Psychology .
“ We wanted to provide our readers with information about LinkedIn ’ s effect on the hiring process since the platform has garnered such popularity ,” Levashina said . “ Despite the popularity of other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram , we chose to focus on LinkedIn because of its professional nature .”
