Well , here ’ s the answer . Icicles are long , thick , pointy wands of ice . Icicles are formed on buildings or sides of outdoor items , like play structures . They usually form when there ’ s a sudden change of temperature . For example , If the sun is shining , the snow on the roofs would start melting . Slowly , it starts to drip off the edges of the roof . Suddenly , the sun is covered by a huge cloud . The dripping ice would start to freeze while hanging on the edge of the roof . Usually , it takes a while for the icicle to become a very big one . It is very fun to pick them or knock them off the roofs and pretend they ' re swords or wands !

When the part of earth you are on is farther away from the sun , you ’ re in the middle of winter . When the part of earth you are on is closer to the sun , you ’ re in the middle of summer . If you are on the sides of earth , it ’ s either spring or fall , so if you are in one part of the earth and you ’ re in winter , the other side of the world is summer !
