We recognize the opportunity that we have to lead through individual and partnered efforts , to act responsibly every single day , and to champion sustainable environmental change . While we are proud of the steps we have taken to improve our production processes , we understand that it ’ s not perfect and there ’ s still work to do . We are dedicated to being transparent and responsible in minimizing the impact our products have on our environment .
All across the world , BUFF ® branches and distributors are involved in local initiatives and organizations in their respective countries . We are committed to CARE MORE , PROTECT MORE and ACT MORE through the continued groundwork and development of our DO MORE NOW initiative .

Responsible Production
The R & D and Design departments are constantly working to make our products more sustainable , putting a special effort on the fabrics ’ sourcing . Many of the fabrics are made from post consumption plastic bottles , which are repurposed into high quality products . We constantly push our boundaries to add new families into our sustainability program . Our last add is the Pack Run Cap , which is now made from 90 % recycled fabric .
83 % of the featured Spring 2021 product assortment is certified UPF 50 and 103 styles are recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective UV protectant for covered areas . More than 50 % of the entire SS21 collection is made from recycled material .
We have also made significant changes in our facilities to improve energy consumption : - In our factory , conventional light bulbs have been replaced for LED ones , reducing power consumption for lighting by 60 % - In partnership with SOM ENERGIA , a green energy cooperative , we are using 100 % renewable energy .
