IN HER FINAL SEASON AS MUSIC DIRECTOR
W e celebrate Marin Alsop as she leads the Baltimore
Symphony Orchestra in her final season as Music Director.
Besides making history as the first woman to hold the position
of Music Director of a major American orchestra, Marin
is recognized for her inspiring leadership and unwavering
conviction that music has the power to change lives. At the
conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Marin will have had the
distinction of leading the Orchestra for 14 years, one of the
longest tenures in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s history.
Acclaimed for her artistry in conducting the great masterworks
of the symphonic repertoire and praised for her commitment
to innovative programming and social justice, Maestra Alsop
has planned a season that highlights some of her greatest
musical passions.
