Easy Halloween Party Food Ideas

Hard to believe that Halloween is almost here!
Since Halloween is my daughter’s favorite holiday,
we make frightful foods together every October.
Here are some easy ideas to make spooky sweets
and some healthy but frightening fare, too.
A Healthy Halloween
Veggie Tray — Freaky
Fingers & Edible Eyes
To make this veggie and cheese tray, put
a dollop of cream cheese in the center of
a carrot slice. Then top with green olives
and edible eyeballs appear. For freaky
fingers, take mozzarella cheese sticks, slice
a section out of the top where a fingernail
goes and apply a little cream cheese in
that spot. The cream cheese acts as glue
for the nail which is made by placing red,
orange and green bell pepper slices in the
nail groove. Don’t worry if cream
cheese sticks out because that
just adds to the desired gross
factor.
To make the skeleton, place a small
bowl filled with ranch dressing on the top
to make a head. Put two green olives in
the dressing to make eyes. Place a piece
of lettuce on the top of the bowl to act as
hair. To make shoulders, use two celery
sticks and baby carrots sticks become the
arms. Use mushrooms to make hands.
Next use cucumber slices to make a spine
and mushrooms to make the pelvis.
Finish up with celery sticks to make legs
and cherry tomatoes to make feet.
Icky & Spooky Sweets Wicked Witch Hats & Gross
Waxy Q-Tips Candy:
Kids will delight in seeing and tasting icky
waxy Q-tips that are actually cookie sticks
with one mini marshmallow on each end
that is dipped in runny caramel. Peanut
butter can also be used. To make wicked
witch hats, place a dab of orange frosting
in the center of the backside of a Keebler
Fudge Stripe cookie. Then place a single
Hershey’s Kiss on top of the frosting.
