bigail Lucero from Chandler has a
pretty interesting story, one that’s
taken her around the country. Still,
she lives on hearing the stories of others.
Lucero is a 26-year-old Christian
missionary, but she’s the first to admit
that her image doesn’t exactly scream
“mission work.”
“People are always surprised,” she says. “In
high school I was voted ‘Looks best in pink.’”
Still, her Christian upbringing planted
a seed, and after watching her parents go
on mission trips to Paraguay and Mexico,
and her sister traveled to Trinidad, Lucero
went to train to do her own mission work.
The difference was that she wanted to
keep it in the country.
After going to a five-week training
course in Hawaii with Youth with
a Mission, Lucero went to a twoweek outreach in Washington, D.C.,
joining the 24-hour-prayer group
Justice House of Prayer. The intense
