Granting Wishes, Celebrating Life...
Local Valley Organization Grants Wishes for Terminally Ill Seniors
Traveling. Attending a sports event. Going out to dinner and seeing family. These are just some of the many wishes being granted by Kimberly Iverson, founder of Bucket List Foundation, and her team. “Our senior generation has experienced so much. They have stories and a lot to share for those who take the time to listen,” Iverson says. “After listening to many stories and wishes of this generation, I wanted to find a way to do more to offer them joy, peace and hope at the most intimate time in their lives.” Iverson decided to start the Bucket List Foundation after a career stemming 20+ years as a hospice and palliative care registered nurse. While there were many hoops to jump through, by November 2011, Iverson had created an organization with a vision of enriching the lives of terminally ill seniors; the Bucket List Foundation offers hope to fulfill a dream or meet a need that otherwise may not be possible. “It brings us great joy to honor these individuals,” Iverson says. “Granting their wishes is our way of celebrating their lives and thanking them for all they have given in their lives through military or just taking care of their families.”
