at Four Fields Park in Pompano Beach. The park is just a few miles from where Peterson himself started his football career at Ely High School. The camp was attended by hundreds of young football players, who only had to pay a $10 registration fee to attend; Peterson wanted the camp to be financially accessible since growing up, he witnessed the sacrifices his family had to often make so his dreams could come true. “I believe the kids learned a lot; I got those kids pumped up and ready to go. I’m trying to give them a bit of insight on how to do things the right way to make their dreams come true, make sure they take the necessary steps and know it starts in the classroom, it starts at home. Then, you put everything on the field. That’s the recipe of being great,” he says. Next year, Peterson hopes to host a similar camp in Arizona. When he’s not busy with the Arizona Cardinals, Peterson enjoys traveling and restoring classic cars. He has a collection which includes a ‘68 Camaro, a ‘72 Camaro and an ‘81 Monte Carlo. He also has a driver who races them for him. “It’s something I always had a passion for growing up so once I had the opportunity to build cars myself and make them the way I wanted them to be, it was a no-brainer to make my dream come true,” he says.
