Healthy Living Portal
As part of the continued growth of diabetes resources offered by Halifax Health to the community due to the generous donation by Nancy and Lowell Lohman , Halifax Health is proud to introduce the Healthy Living Portal . The Healthy Living healthylivingportal . com Portal is a website that has a host of tools for people who are either diagnosed with diabetes or for someone looking to learn more .
The website will be offered to participants in the 12 week Live Your Life Well Diabetes Prevention and Education Series . The series is taught by Mica Lill , Manager , Community Health at Halifax Health and Poonam Kapadia , MD at UF Health Endocrinology at Halifax Health . It also can be used for those who do not partake in the cohort . The topics covered on the Healthy Living Portal include nutrition , mental health , fitness , and physician support . Within each of these subjects include videos from medical professionals related to each topic , articles containing important information to utilize while managing your diabetes , an ability to take a diabetes risk assessment through the American Diabetes Association , and tracking your food intake on a daily basis to see if you are keeping a balanced diet .
In the coming months , our diabetes program will continue its enhancement as the newly renamed Lohman Building will be completed with its renovations . Currently , the building houses a multitude of services , including Halifax Health - Diabetes Education Services and UF Health Endocrinology at Halifax Health .
