Key Points Summary
Recent trends: Demand remains positive
When asked about their more recent experience in the six months prior to the survey
(September 2018 to March 2019), over 70% of spas said spending per visit and revenues
had increased compared to the same period in the previous year.
The trend in spa visits was less pronounced, with 51% reporting an increasing trend.
However, only 12% said that spa visits had reduced with the remaining 37% saying that spa
visits were unchanged in the six-month period to March 2019.
One in four spas (25%) said they had increased staffing levels in the last six months
compared to the same period in the previous year. Decreasing staffing levels were reported
by just 10% of spas, with the majority (65%) saying that their staffing levels had remained
unchanged in the six months to March 2019 compared to the same period in the previous
year.
