A CALL TO ACTION
Uncovering the exact causes for Nevada ’ s low ranking is the first step toward improving the health of everyone in our state .
Working together with partners , we conducted the Washoe County Community Health Needs Assessment and discovered four key areas in need of improvement :
• Mental Health
• Substance Use
• Physical Activity , Nutrition and Weight
• Chronic Disease and Screenings
We focused on what could be done to improve the situation and create real change in the lives and health of people in our area . The result is the 2018-2021 Renown Community Health Needs Plan , a detailed summary of Washoe County ’ s most severe health needs along with an action plan that incorporates the assistance of our community partners in addressing those challenges .
And everyone involved is determined to succeed .
To help ensure that success , Renown stands ready with resources and support for those who fight with us in the name of community health . We also offer funding to vital not-for-profit partners whose programs and efforts are directly benefiting the Community Health Improvement Plan .
