steep steps forever. He heard noises from the underground trains. That, accompanied by their footsteps, the dim path and his thoughts, made the hairs at the back of his neck stand up. Not once did Tony feel a shiver run down his spine. The warmth in the underground tunnels seemed odd and ominous.

Tony stopped in his tracks abruptly. There. He turned to glance at Michele and then looked back down to the train tracks.

“What do we do now?” Michele asked, a frown on her face.

“Walk down there, of course,” Tony shrugged, as if it really was that simple. However, the young woman didn’t appear to be so sure of that.

“But where will we go?” She persisted.

“There,” Tony said and nodded towards the left. “It should be there, very close.”

Michele hesitated for another second, but then nodded. Tony smiled again. He jumped down to the train tracks first, waited for Michele and the two hurried off again. Careful not to step on the rails, they walked quickly, shining both of their flashlights. Tony tried his best not to think about the danger. All that mattered was the ring and the adventure.

A few more steps and Michele’s flashlight shone down a tunnel. The main tunnel went on, while that tunnel came out of it, just like Tony had read. Tony stepped into the tunnel, a different branch of the underground tunnels. Michele walked right next to him. So far, everything seemed to fall into the place. And then, at the very end of the tunnel, they saw it.
