About speaker:
Dr. Edward Park is a professor of Asian and Asian American Studies at Loyola Marymount University
in Los Angeles, California. He received his Ph.D. in ethnic studies at the University of California,
Berkeley. His current research topics include migration studies, race relations, urban studies, and
economic sociology. His most recent publications examine the transformation of Koreatown since the
Los Angeles Civil Unrest of 1992, migration policies in the U.S. and East Asia, and the role of
transnational linkages in the career opportunities of Korean American scientists and engineers.
