“K-Pop 101” for Teachers in the U.S.

From BTS to Blackpink, numerous Korean pop music bands (also referred to as “idol groups”) have become highly
popular in the U.S. and have garnered major U.S. media coverage in recent years. This presentation will discuss
some significances of K-Pop and how our youth are experiencing and engaging with this form of popular culture.
