WORLD CLEAN UP DAY 我们的家园,零垃圾从鲁容开始 In conjunction with a global event World Clean Up Day for 2019, JCI MCE has collaborated together with GEMA Melaka, Jabatan Alam Sekitar and Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB) to held a World Clean Up Day 2019 in Duyong, Melaka from 16 September to 21 September 2019 This program supported by YB Damian Yeo Shen Li, Chairman of Melaka Special Select Committee on Competency, Accountability & Transparency (MELCAT) and Duyong state assemblyman. He urge all 14 Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in his constituency to participate in this program which is benefit to all community . During the speech in launching of the program on 16 September, to continues support this effort and long term sustainability, he allocate budget for Green and clean award prize for each month to MPKK and JCI will be the key partner for this program to helping the community and engage with government agency, private sector, local NGOs and stakeholder. On the last day of program on 21 September, The event started from 6.30am until 4pm and have successfully acquired 300 volunteers from community, various government agency, private sector and NGO to join and participate the cleaning up program. This year we successfully break our last year record which only 1.2 Tons to 5 Tons in year 2019. During the ceremony, Guest Of Honor, YB Datuk Tey Kok Kiew, Exco of Housing, Local Government and Environment, he urge the community can be self responsible to environment, practice 3R(Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and segregate the waste. He also suggest more projects can be long term sustainable rather just one day projects and create more impact to the local community. He wish JCI MCE can be continue support with SW Corp and local government agency in the journey to archive zero waste in melaka.
