唵 (ōng) white

pain of pride
嘛 (ma) green
to save from the
pain of envy
呢 (nī) yellow
to save from the pain
of death and greed
叭 (bēi) blue
to save from the
pain of illness
咪 (mēi) red
to save from the
pain of hunger
吽 (hōng) dark blue
to save from the pain
of natural disaster
These six characters correspond to the Six-Fold
Humans Sufferings in the Buddhist philosophy.
It is also an approach to have a better
understanding of human nature in Buddhism.
This mantra is also known as Six-Syllabled
Mantra, Six-Character Bright Mantra, Mani
Mantra, and Mantra of Bodhisattva of
Compassion. It is one of the most concise
mantras in Buddhism. The six-character mantra
is a practice, which liberates bliss.
