ISABELLA MOORE
soprano
New Zealand soprano Isabella Moore is a graduate
of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a
2017 Music Academy of the West alumnus.
Her opera work includes the title role in Puccini’s
Suor Angelica, Giulietta in Offenbach’s The Tales
of Hoffmann, Gulnara in Verdi’s II corsaro, and
Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello. In January this year, Isabella performed
the role of Hine-nui-te-pō from New Zealand composer Celeste Oram’s
opera, He Pūtōrino Mākutu. The opera was performed as part of the San
Diego Symphony’s Winter Festival ‘Hearing the Future’.
She has taken part in master classes with artists that include Montserrat
Caballé, Warren Jones, and Sir Richard Bonynge.
In 2018, Ms. Moore took part in Marilyn Horne’s The Song Continues
programme (Carnegie Hall, New York) where she was a participant in a
master class given by Renée Fleming.
Ms. Moore was a semifinalist in the 2017 Houston Grand Opera’s 29th
Annual Eleanor McCollum Competition, winner of the 2015 Joan
Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award, winner of the 2014
Marianne Mathy Scholarship, winner of the 2014 New Zealand Aria
Competition, and winner of the 2014 New Zealand Lexus Song Quest
Competition.
Isabella recently returned to Auckland from Samoa after performing at
both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2019 Pacific Games.
In September, Isabella will perform in Sydney with the Australian Opera
and Ballet Orchestra as the guest artist for the IFAC Australian Singing
Competition Grand Final (Sept 19th). She is also the soprano soloist for
the APO Christmas Concert in December.
