The U.S. Postal Inspection Service (US-
PIS) is the law enforcement arm of the
U.S. Postal Service with jurisdiction over
“crimes that may adversely affect or fraud-
ulently use the U.S. Mail, the postal system
or postal employees,” and relies on the in-
vestigative efforts of OIG special agents
who investigate bribery, kickbacks, extor-
tion, conflicts of interest, and allegations
against Postal Service executives.
