SMALL ANIMAL - Open Class

Check-in: Tuesday, August 6th 8:00am - 12:00pm
Show Time: 2:00pm (Following 4-H/FFA Small Animal)
All Open class shows will follow 4-H/FFA conformation
class. Please check the official schedule.
Open Class is open to anyone from anywhere. It will only be
judged on quality (conformation).
All ANIMALS are subject to inspection by the veterinarian
in attendance upon admission to exposition grounds and/
or have signed veterinarian health papers. No animal shall
be admitted or allowed to remain on the grounds that
shows evidence of any infectious or contagious disease or
any unsightly condition. Birds or animals should not be
vaccinated with live Newcastle disease (Pneumoencephalitis)
virus vaccine or any other live virus vaccine within 45
days prior to entry to the fairgrounds. Testing for Pullorum/
Typhoid in poultry will occur at the fair. All poultry should
be dusted prior to Fair.
Exhibitors will be required to be present to show their bird or
animal. Each one must carry his single bird or animal exhibit
to the judge’s table. All cages will be furnished by exhibitor.
Please follow all general Fair policies (page 19-21).
Limit of only one entry and one breed per lot.
Good herdsmanship is required throughout fair. Premium
money will be withheld if areas are not clean at all times.
ALL OPEN CLASS ANIMAILS THAT DO NOT
BELONG TO A 4-H/FFA EXHIBITOR WILL BE
EXCUSED TO GO HOME AFTER THE OPEN CLASS
SHOW IS OVER.

1st Place ribbons will receive $3.00
2nd Place ribbons will receive $2.00

How To Enter Animals!
We encourage anyone and everyone to enter our Fair. Your
entries are important since they showcase the talent we have
here in Baker County! The following is a basic guideline for
your information. If you have any questions, please call the
Fair Office 541-523-7881.
Entry Forms:
Obtain official entry forms from our website at bakerfair.
com, the Fair/Extension Office, or in this book. Note:
Each animal entered requires a separate entry form. Please
complete all forms prior to coming to Fair.
Exhibits:
All entries should be the best quality possible. Check each
department for specific quantities and guidelines.

POULTRY:
The American Poultry Association (APA) Bred Large Fowl
Class is based on those birds found exclusively in the APA
book titled, Standards of Perfection.
The Non-APA Standard Bred Large Fowl Class would
include birds found in standards other than APA, like the
British or Japanese Standards.
The Cross-Bred Large Fowl Class would include known
backyard crosses, sex links and birds associated with the
Oregon State University Animal Sciences Dept/Oregon Fryer
