ABOVE: NFusion Desoto (Southaven, MS) took on bullying in its community with a resource
fair including Zumba, keynote speakers, and first responders at the local YMCA. The event
was held on May 4, YMCA’s Community Healthy Kids Day.
SOUTHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI
NFusion Desoto, with local family-run prevention and awareness
groups, hosted an anti-bullying “Zumbathon” at a YMCA on May 4—
a community day in which YMCA facilities were already open to the
public. Participants enjoyed Zumba classes and listened to keynote
speakers who had experienced a child’s death by suicide.
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS
On May 9, the CENTRAL PLAINS CENTER hosted a block party on
the lawn of its respite house to remind clients and their families that
they are not alone, as well as congratulate them for getting help and
taking care of their mental health. Block party participants enjoyed yard
games, ice cream sundaes, and prizes, including suicide prevention
temporary tattoos and bracelets.
