Salute to Service presented by CSX The Jaguars Foundation knows that the sacrifice required of Unit- ed States military personnel extends far beyond a tour of duty. In recognition of this lifetime of service, the team has committed to support of our troops from enlistment through retirement. DE Calais Campbell, LB Leon Jacobs, LS Matt Orzech and LB Quincy Williams visit NAS JAX to interact with active duty sailors. The Jaguars’ annual Salute to Service campaign connects players, coaches, alumni and front office staff with active duty and retired military members in a variety of ways across multiple weeks of events and programming. From Jacksonville’s Veteran’s Day Parade to visits to local bases to movie nights for military families and video game challenges with overseas troops, the team puts the spotlight on those that serve our country. “Growing up on an Air Force base and growing up overseas, I realized that military life is not easy,” said Jaguars WR Chris Conley. “It is such a huge sacrifice that these people make. I have a lot of respect for the military. I saw what happened when I was a kid and people came and visited the base and brought a smile to my face. Every opportunity that I have to show the gratefulness for the sacrifice that they make, I want to try and take advantage of it.” In 2019, the Jaguars turned on the real spotlights with a special broadcast of the weekly Jaguars’ All Access television show live from USS Paul Ignatius at Naval Station Mayport. Jaguars WR Chris Conley joined DE Calais Campbell to host the show and spend time with active duty sailors. The Jaguars hosted their annual Salute to Service game on Sun- day, Dec. 1 against the Buccaneers. The Jaguars, alongside gener- ous corporate and individual donors, partnered with the Greater Jacksonville Area USO to provide complimentary tickets to more than 6,000 active duty, retired and reservist military personnel and More than 200 recruits enlisted in all five branches of the U.S. military and took the oath of enlistment administered by Brig. Gen. Vincent Buggs of the U.S. Army Reserve. WR Chris Conley visits Mayport Naval Base where he and DE Calais Campbell hosted Jaguars All Access live from the base. Pros vs GI Joes gives players like QB Garner Minshew the opportunity to interact with soldiers and challenge them to a variety of video games.
