BUSINESS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES
Student capacity: open
Produce a 2-3 minute radio documentary, the top pieces will be played on TC Campus
Connection. The piece should include an interview and will be judged on the quality of the
recording, editing and subject matter. The piece can be sent in and will be judged by radio
station personnel.
FURTHER DESCRIPTION:
Record an interview using a microphone and software to tell an interesting story of someone you
know. The interview should have both the sound of the interviewer and the subject. The
content will be judged on how well the audio is recorded, if the audio has been edited to sound
more complete, and if it uses a music bed, sound effects or other production techniques. This is
not a funny piece but could describe a humorous incident that happened to the interviewee.
This is not a made up story but a real event for the interviewee. These are generally called
“Human Interest Stories” and are played daily on Public Radio stations across the country. For
examples search the Internet for “Story Corps”.
