Informing the Public on the Process of Filing a Compliment or Complaint with the Arlington Police Department
The Texas Racial Profiling Law requires that police agencies provide information to the public regarding the manner in which to file a compliment or racial profiling complaint . In an effort to comply with this particular component , the Arlington Police Department launched an educational campaign aimed at informing the public on issues relevant to the racial profiling complaint process .
The police department made available , in the lobby area and on its web site , information relevant to filing a compliment and complaint on a racial profiling violation by a Arlington Police officer . In addition , each time an officer issues a citation , ticket or warning , information on how to file a compliment or complaint is given to the individual cited . This information is in the form of a web address ( including in the document issued to the citizen ), which has instructions and details specifics related to the compliment or complaint processes .
It is believed that through these efforts , the community has been properly informed of the new policies and the complaint processes relevant to racial profiling .
