2018 PRINCIPAL CHARITY CLASSIC
The 2018 Principal Charity Classic provided a
great week of first-class events for sponsors,
players and spectators, from Tuesday night
Tee-Off party at the Wells Fargo Arena to the
well-attended tournament opening ceremony
at the first tee. Played at the historic Wakonda
Club, the tournament once again showcased
the tremendous impact Principal provides
Greater Des Moines and the state of Iowa. The
Principal Charity Classic is a major community
event, providing an exciting onsite experience
and a feeling of bigness for the worldwide TV
viewing audience. This year’s tournament was
highlighted by a field that included numerous
past tournament champions, top PGA TOUR
Champions rookies and reigning player of the
year Bernhard Langer. The tournament, while
shortened due to weather, produced a worthy
champion in Tom Lehman who had his daughter
as his caddie for the win.
