Carlee graduated with both undergraduate ( B . Arch ) and graduate degrees ( MS Civil Engineering ) from NJIT and has worked in the construction field for 10 + years . She began her career at Mid-Atlantic Mechanical as a draftsman but her ambition to succeed and ability to quickly learn complex systems made her stand out as a leader . She was moved into estimating within a few months and after only two years , she was promoted to the Manager of the Estimating Department , and is now overseeing a staff of seven estimators .
As the leader of the estimating team , she has been integral in growing the company from $ 15 million in annual sales to between $ 40-50 million over the last eight years . She is responsible for reviewing all estimates , negotiating proposals with customers and ensuring that all team members are bidding projects both competitively and profitably . Carlee has become one of the most knowledgeable women in the mechanical contracting industry and hopes to inspire more women to join the construction field and pursue their dreams of building .
