ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS The Lord’s Supper The Lord’s Supper will be on Sunday evening, September 9. Because of the exceptional blessing we have in this sacrament and the danger of eating and drinking unworthily, it is necessary that we come to it with knowledge, faith, repentance, love and with hungering and thirsting souls after Christ and His benefits. The congregation is encouraged to use all appointed means, public and private, to come to the Lord’s Table, depending upon God for the gracious preparation of the heart according to His promise (Psalm 10:17). Our next Lord’s Supper will be held on Sunday morning, October 7. Session/Diaconate Meetings Our regular Session/Diaconate meetings will be held on Monday evening, September 17, at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. They will meet jointly in the Assembly Room at 6:30 pm. Dead Theologians’ Society The Dead Theologians’ Society will meet on Wednesday, September 26, at 6:50 a.m. at the home of Terry Johnson, 110 Lee Blvd. (breakfast is provided) and on Thursday, September 27 at 12:00 noon in the Administration Building (brown bag lunch). The Pooler Dead Theologians’ Society will meet on October 4 at 11:45 a.m. at Miss Sophie’s Marketplace, Mighty Eighth Museum (purchase lunch). Read Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God by J. I. Packer, pp. 1-60, Chapters 1-3. point pleasant workday The diaconate will host our Annual Point Pleasant Fall Workday on Saturday, September 8, beginning at 9:00 a.m. We encourage all members to come and help with cleaning up the building inside and getting the grounds ready for our fall events. Be sure to bring work gloves, rakes, blowers, etc. TUEsDAY MORNING CIRCLE The Tuesday Morning Circle will meet on September 11, 10:30 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Lucy Brannen, 401 Suncrest Boulevard, (912) 897-7633. Linda DePue will be teaching on the life of David. TUEsDAY EVENING CIRCLE The Tuesday Evening Circle will meet on September 11, 7:00 p.m. at Mrs. Anne Portell’s home, 340 E. 50th Street. Mrs. Barbara Rustine will be leading a discussion of the book, Identity Thief, edited by Melissa Kruger.
