philosophical emphasis of our missions committee is church planting, so we try to have a church planter every year), missionary trainers, and program staff from a local ministry. Our keynote speaker, Hal Farnsworth, has been known and loved by I. P. C. for many years. Hal received his M. Div. from Covenant Seminary, going on to serve as an RUF campus minister first at Mississippi State, then Vanderbilt University. In 1996, he and MaryBeth with their 4 children moved to Athens, GA, as church planters. I. P. C. supported his planting of Redeemer Presbyterian Church where he continues as Senior Minister. Hal will give devotionals at our large group meetings and preach twice on Sunday. Our missionary guests include Bruce and Barbara Wannamacher, Aaron and Rachel Halbert, and Emily Thomas. The Wannamachers and Halberts both serve with MTW— the Wannamachers as missionary trainers in sub-Saharan Africa, and the Halberts as church planters in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We’ ve supported the Wannamachers for many years and added the Halberts to our budget in 2015. Emily Thomas is Program Director at The Living Vine Christian Maternity Home. We’ ve supported The Living Vine for many years as well and look forward to Emily’ s report.
Schedule for Missions Conference
I. P. C. is strongly committed to supporting the mission of spreading the Gospel— locally, around our nation, and around the world. Our goal is to dedicate 25 % of our annual operating budget to missions. We encourage you to full participation in the missions conference as we all need to be challenged personally and corporately. You need to see how your tithes and offerings are being used. We all need to be renewed in our own relationships with our Good Shepherd and motivated to the vision of the Lord’ s“ other sheep.” Our congregation’ s times of fellowship are always rich. Again this year we will enjoy the wonderful food prepared by Silk Road Catering( Tim and Tricia Barrett) and Miss Sophie’ s( Teri Bell). All of our events will take place at our downtown campus, with all of our gatherings taking place in the Fellowship Hall, Telfair Hall, and our sanctuary. Giving thanks that as“ other sheep” we’ ve been brought into the flock, let’ s come together to worship, learn, and be challenged to greater obedience to the Great Commission. I look forward to seeing you.
