Ground clearance
Komatsu forwarders all have
high ground clearance, which
facilitates mobility on uneven
terrain. An example of a solution
that improves ground clearance on
forwarders is the hidden last gear
steps, which are inside the wheel
rims instead of sticking out under
the machine. This creates better
ground clearance, which leads to
fewer shocks and injuries.
Ergonomics and cabin comfort
A sustainable operator
environment, in the cab, is
important for making every day
productive. Komatsu Forest
can offer a wide range of extra
equipment to make the cab, even
more comfortable and high-
functioning. Examples include:
KCC Advanced hand controls with
five extra programmable buttons;
blinds on all windows and/or sun
blinds, front; radio with Bluetooth
and hands-free support; air-
ventilated seat; lunch box heater;
cooler box; side wipers and allergy
filter 3 μ (mu).
ComfortRide is the hydraulic
cab suspension that has been
developed in close cooperation
with Komatsu Forests customers.
The design with optimized
geometry, four-point suspension
and well-protected cylinders (with
long stroke) effectively counteracts
shocks, sway and vibrations. This
improves comfort and reduces
fatigue for the operator.
Service points
The daily service of the machine
has to run smoothly and easy
for operator convenience and
comfort. With the service points
easily accessible on the forwarder,
much of the daily service can be
conducted from the cab or the
ground.
There is a removable ladder for
those service points that cannot
be reached from the ground. All
forwarders have an electric hood
opener that makes it easy to access

the service platform for filter and
control points.
High ground clearance makes
it easier to access the eight
service hatches in the front and
rear frame. With ComfortRide, the
service accessibility is even better,
since there is good accessibility
to all key components, including
brakes, gearbox, accumulators and
thermostats.
Starting early June, TimberPro
began releasing its newly refreshed
line-up of rubber-tired forwarders.
The new D-series is powered by
the Cummins High Performance L9
Stage V engine. This new engine
comes standard with 338 hp and an
optional 350 hp is also offered.
TimberPro chose the stage V
engine over Tier 4 because of its
simplified aftertreatment system,
which uses a single canister SCR.
The new L9 engine is also more fuel
efficient than its predecessor, while
reducing maintenance cost with
1,000-hour oil change intervals.
The D-series continues
using TimberPro’s revolutionary
continuous swing, which allows the
operator to work 360° around the
machine. D-series forwarders are
offered in two variants; the TF830
20 t and the TF840 24 t.
The new TF800 D-series is
configurable as a forwarder, clam
bunk skidder and as a combo
machine. With this combination
of reliability, strength and
versatility it’s easy to see why the
TF series rubber-tired equipment
is the machine of choice for many
operators.
