LOGGING • SAW
As part of a major modernization in 2013,
Metsa Fibre replaced two older sawlines
at its Vilppula sawmill in Finland with
a HewSaw SL250 3.4 line. The highly
productive HewSaw line is equipped with
some of the company’s latest technology
advances and can produce up to eight
edged sideboards from each cant,
eliminating downstream edging.
Similar HewSaw lines have recently been
installed in the USA, Russia, Scotland,
France and Australia. HewSaw also
manufactures smaller single pass machines
and the Finnish company now has
equipment on six continents.
