The hydraulics have been revised on the chipping unit itself . “ We are now fitting four instead of the previous three hydraulic pumps . This means that each circuit can be supplied as required because all four pumps have been implemented as variable displacement pumps ,” explained Müller .

The easy2 machine controller is also new . The successor to the previous Jenz easygreen machine controller was first fitted to the new Chippertrucks . The hardware used by the easy2 uses state-ofthe-art technology and combines a high level of robustness with enormous power . This means that rapid , comfortable operation with immediate response is possible . In detail , the control system consists of several components : the touch display , easy2TOUCH , in addition to an additional operating element , the easy2SELECT joystick . In the vehicle variation with the Cobra cabin version the operating system has been extended with an additional operating console , the easy2CONTROL .
The easy2TOUCH display is the machine ’ s command centre . Here settings can be made by simply touching the screen . All functions which can be operated using the easy2TOUCH display can also be set using the easy2SELECT joystick .
The operator can carry out adjustments in a range of display menus to suit his requirements . Display menus enable representation of display instruments , for example those showing torque or fuel consumption . The arrangement of the machine functions in the display menu on top of the key allocation for the new multifunction joystick can be individually configured and designed completely to the driver ’ s requirements . The new crane joysticks provide nine further keys in addition to the crane function , which can now be freely allocated with machine functions according to the operator ’ s requirements .
In addition , the easy2 control system has fundamental new functions for automating repeating sequences . This includes the new automated setup / breakdown with which the mobile chipper is ready for deployment even more quickly on site . The automated forward drive enables rapid relocation of the machine along the material . The machine can be moved forward without uncoupling the rotor , and after this it returns automatically to the operating status as previously set .
In order to deploy the machine as efficiently as possible and to make fault analysis after unplanned malfunctions easier , all the operating data is recorded . If required , it can be transmitted cableless to the JENZ server via USB or mobile phone networks . This saves valuable time and enables faster analyses . Future further developments will affect the connectivity using Wi-Fi in addition to update and diagnosis functions .
