heads offer excellent saw recovery,
performance and serviceability
to meet and exceed the needs of
loggers, ensuring they can be as
profitable as possible.
To ensure optimal productivity
and lower operating costs, it is
important for loggers to use the
correct felling head for the job.
When determining the best felling
head, it is important to consider
three factors: application, tree type
and conditions.
Combined with the John Deere
L- and M-Series Feller Bunchers,
loggers can experience increased
productivity, uptime and profits,
even on the most challenging of
jobs.
Feller Bunchers. The sturdy
L-Series machines have over a
70° tilt forward and a 12° tilt back
function, providing operators with
increased support for the difficult
task at hand. The one-button Quick
Dump feature on the L-Series
provides loggers with additional
stability and bunching control,
while saving time. With a press of a
button, both the accumulating and
grab arms open to release trees
from the pocket, minimizing fatigue
and maximizing productivity.
Developed based on extensive
customer input, the FD55 felling
head was designed for thinning
and final harvesting. Its large
accumulation area enables the
FD55 to take on a variety of jobs,
from small-diameter thinning to
big single stems up to 584 mm (23
in). The twin-post design offers the
operator superior visibility.
The FD55 features large
bore cylinders, a taller horn and
clean bunch release, boosting
