INCLUSION AND COMMUNITY >>>>>>>> > > The ALI Program - Inclusive Voluntarism Including Girls with Special Needs in Israel’s National Service Program: ALEH Moriah in Gedera launched the unique ALI [rise] program, in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services. ALI enables teenage girls from religious backgrounds with special needs to take part in the government-sponsored “Mechina L’Chaim” (Preparing for Life) Program over a 3-year track. Launched at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year together with the Givat Washington Academy and the National Service Organization, the program aims to create a suitable path for each participant, enabling her to continue on the road to an independent and autonomous life, integrated and included within the community at large. Tikkun Olam – Making the World a Better Place, One Student at a Time: ALEH’s Tikkun Olam program in partnership with the Ministry of Education, exposes tens of thousands of high school youth to people with disabilities and to the concept and principles of accessibility. Since the launch of the project there has been a noticeable spike in youth-led volunteerism and social
