ALEH FOR YOU Community Initiative: In response to a real community need, ALEH opened a free
service offering information, professional guidance and support to parents of children with
special needs and complex medical and developmental situations. ALEH FOR YOU provides a
supportive social network, assists parents during the primary stages of diagnosing and defining
their child’s situation, imparts accurate information regarding accessing and utilizing social
benefits/rights, and guides parents to the relevant agencies and frameworks available to care
for their child. The community service includes a Hotline [1-800-201-077] to answer questions,
solve problems and lend a listening ear to distressed parents; Parenting Groups bring together
mothers of children with special needs and special education field professionals; Unique baby-
service finding appropriate babysitters for children with special needs connects 2,500 parents
of children with disabilities and students of special education.
Therapeutic Horseback Riding Expands to the Community: In 2018, ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran’s
pioneering therapeutic horseback riding program expanded, providing rehabilitative treatments
to patients with communication disabilities and emotional issues as well as special education
school students from surrounding communities. The program provides patients with fertile
ground for emotional, communication, motor and sensory experiences and improved motor
ability and physical strength.
