Established in 1855, Auckland Choral is a 140-strong
mixed choir producing a spine-chillingly beautiful sound
that conveys the essence of the world’s greatest symphonic
choral works. As New Zealand’s oldest arts organisation,
Auckland Choral aims to perform regularly with the city’s
great orchestras in the city’s venues, invite world-class
soloists and conductors to our shores, commission grand
new works, and nurture the practice and performance
of choral music in our community for future generations
to enjoy.
Under the inspirational leadership of Music Director, Uwe
Grodd, Auckland Choral brings a unique blend of artistic
excellence, professional polish and community spirit to
its performances. In 2018, Auckland Choral is proud to
present a milestone in the history of Auckland’s arts scene:
100 consecutive years of singing Messiah in Auckland.
