Blue River Career Programs is the area career and technical
education center serving Shelby County. In addition
to secondary classes, they also offer a wide range of
adult education courses through various post-secondary
institutions, Ed2Go and Blue River Career Programs. Courses
range from reading and math literacy to GED preparation to
courses for college credit and self-interest.
Established in 1874, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has
established itself as the consistently top-ranked
undergraduate engineering college in the U.S. Their
beautiful campus in west-central Indiana is home to some of
the nation’s best science, technology, engineering and math
students, faculty and facilities.
The Excel Center
The Excel Center is a free public high school for adults that provides
flexible class schedules, supportive relationships with staff and a life
coach who works with students to find solutions for life’s challenges
that could hinder progress. They provide a free drop-in center for
child care, transportation assistance, extended hours and
year-round operation to support students as they work toward the
goal of earning a diploma.
