Procedures for Measuring Cards for Yearling,
Two-Year-Old and Senior Horses at
Regional Championship Shows
1. T he AMHA Office shall provide measurement cards to
Championship Show Management.
2. At measuring, each yearling, two-year-old and senior horse
requesting a measurement card for the World Show shall
have one completed by the measuring staff based on the
measurement at that Championship Show.
3. Measurements will also be made on the Official Height List
which will be mailed to AMHA at the conclusion of the show.
4. Before receiving their number, exhibitors with horses with
Regional or Permanent Measurement Cards must bring the
horse to the measuring area with a copy of its registration
papers and coggins and health papers to have the horse
checked against the papers by the measuring team and to
be logged into the measurement book. The horses will step
onto the measuring platform and their back number and
recorded height will be announced and recorded by the
camera and on the log sheet. The measurement team will
“sign off” on the card as having seen the appropriate papers
and health requirements and the exhibitor can take the card
to the office for their number.
5. Loss of your measurement card will require that you be
re-measured at the AMHA World Show.
