ABOVE: An excursion in June, brought together over 40 members of the Leadership Polk Alumni
Association for an in-depth look at the new SunTrax tolling facility. Expert presentations from
the Florida Turnpike Association, Florida Polytechnic University Advanced Mobility Institute and
the Polk County Transportation Planning Organization provided insights in the areas of interstate
tolling systems as well as autonomous and self-driving vehicles. Following the discussion, alumni
members hopped on a bus for a tour of the new SunTrax facility.
