PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
Signature Programs
Heritage 365
This new initiative observes the cultural heritage and history beyond the
month and recognizes such heritage month from a year-long format. It
encourages partners across campus as well as students think broader in
terms of heritage celebration. We continued to recognize and honor each
heritage celebration month. However, Heritage 365 takes it a step further
to celebrate and recognize heritage, history, and contributions of
marginalized communities throughout the year. The initiative engaged
students through four areas of focus: identity development, social
justice, academic enrichment, and community engagement. We offered
an opportunity for student organizations to request funding to support a program proposal to push the
#Heritage365 initiative. As a result, we funded twenty-seven Heritage 365 programs which planned by
twenty intercultural organizations.
Black Heritage Celebration
Black Heritage Celebration is a campus-wide initiative to highlight and celebrate the various
Black/African Heritage cultures on campus, history and their contributions to the world. Events are
sponsored by student organizations, faculty members, and a number of offices within the university.
The celebration continued to expand and grow with the students leading and planning various
programs to celebrate throughout the academic year.
