• Fourth, establishes a sound and credible fiscal plan for
the 2018/19 fiscal period and beyond that:
Ø addresses the fiscal pressures that we confront
and provides for the implementation of the
Government’s socio-economic growth agenda
in a fiscally responsible way;
Ø secures the achievement of the proposed legally
mandated annual deficit reduction objectives;
and
Ø sets the course toward the legislated, longer
term
goal
of
reducing
the
burden
of
Government debt to no more than 50 per cent of
GDP.
In our first Budget last year, I stated that Bahamians
had given our Government a decisive mandate to bring about
