project with a particular focus on the Digital Economy and
the Blue Economy.
With the objective of promoting Bahamian firms to
incorporate digital technologies into their business strategy
and create new innovative technology-based business
models, the Government aims to develop a sector strategy
that involves both public and private stakeholders. To that
end, we contemplate the need to improve the existing ICT
infrastructure and legal and institutional framework in order
to promote investment in the digital sector, as well as to use
digital solutions to improve productivity in all economic
sectors.
The "Blue Economy" concept was first used during
the 2012 United Nations Conference on Sustainable
Development and is an evolving concept that recognizes the
