Land Use
Land use is the collection of activities in the natural
and built environment that make up the whole of a
community’s land area. A community’s mix of land uses
helps define its character and give it its sense of place.
The land use chapter designates the location and
extent of public and private land uses, the location
of natural and built areas, and the density and
intensity of the built environment. The purpose of this
chapter is to:
u u Guide development in order to preserve and
enhance Glenview’s unique residential character.
Glenview has established itself as a family-oriented residential community
with a diverse range of shopping and unique cultural destinations.
Glenview Looking Forward
u u Foster growth that is integrated with, and highly
accessible to good jobs, shopping, amenities
and recreation.
