2016 was another busy year for the Oahu District Tennis Association (ODTA). As a 100% volunteer organization, our goal has
been to grow the game of tennis with new players and to support our present players. To truly make it a sport of a lifetime
with opportunities for all, we have:
• Continued the Reserve-A-Court program at four schools that benefit both adult and junior players. This include repair/
installation of windscreens and nets, power washing, maintenance of the court surface, fabrication of benches, and
donation of cases of tennis balls to junior players.
• Continued support of the very successful Adult League programs with 390 teams and over 5,200 players. We provided
balls for league matches, court costs for CORP, league coordinator salaries and costs, financial assistance for teams
attending National Championships, and our Annual Captain’s Brunch with over 200 captains. We continued to support
four Sectional Championships on the island of Oahu.
• Continued to support community-based tennis festivals and programs in Waipahu, Ewa Beach, Village Park, Palolo and
Kalihi Valley that involve both juniors and adults.
• Provided tennis scholarships for deserving junior players on the island of Oahu.
We would like to thank all of our hard-working volunteers for giving so unselfishly of their time and efforts, to make tennis
what it is in the Oahu District. Please visit our website at oahu.usta.com.
