Participation at the Convocation
• Before arriving in Orlando, it may be a good idea to
decide together on delegation meeting times: break on
Sunday, breakfast on Tuesday, etc.
Meals and Breaks
While there will be fruitful conversation in plenaries and break-
outs, there will also be great opportunities in the hallways, over
meals, or during free time. Intentionally use your time well. The
meals and breaks give you the chance for further engagement and
even deeper dialogue in a more casual setting.
• If you’re tired or need time to process a talk or a conver-
sation, feel free to take a break. There are plenty of places
around the convention center to sit, relax, grab a bite to
eat, or if time allows, head back to your room.
• Make time for prayer and silence: there is a Blessed
Sacrament Chapel set up for Convocation participants.
You may also choose to find a quiet space in the hotel,
conference center, or outside. Respect the quiet time of
others as well.
• Use the breaks and mealtimes to introduce your-
self to other Convocation participants. You have a lot
in common!
• If you want to learn more about the resources available
to you as a Catholic leader, be sure to check out the
exhibits and sponsors’ tables located in and around the
convention center.
• Don’t forget to eat! It may be tempting to skip a meal in
favor of conversation, but you don’t want to be distracted
from the talks by an empty stomach. Even more, meals
will help with being fully energized to make the most of
your Convocation experience.
