Changes to the 2014 STANSW constitution PREAMBLE TO MOTION: STANSW Council is the decision-making body of the Association. At present, when there are more nominations for Council than there are positions, a postal ballot takes place. This is very cost and time expensive for the Association. Given the range of anonymous and safe electronic voting software packages available Council would like to recommend using an electronic voting system that will be managed by the Returning Officer. The following clauses are all dependant on the removal of the ‘postal’ aspect of the vote and left room for any future innovations in this area. Motion 4:That clause 6.9 of the STANSW Constitution: 6.9 Elected Councillors shall be elected by postal ballot held every year in Term Four of the School Year. Be changed to: 6.9 Elected Councillors shall be elected by ballot held every year in Term Four of the School Year. Amendment: 6.9 Elected Councillors shall be elected by secret ballot held every year in Term Four of the School Year. 1 September 2016, Associations and Incorporated act in 2009 - change was made.
