Flex Fence ® Systems
What is a “ Tensioned Fence ” system ?
Unlike traditional board or PVC fencing which are rigid , Flex Fence ® is a tensioned flexible fence system . Our proprietary blend of polyolefins encapsulate 3 prestraightened , galvanized high tensile wires . This means that the rail unrolls straighter . Additionally , the strength of the fence is created by the tension pulled on the rail .
Each flexible “ rail ” of fence comes to you in 660 ' rolls . The continuous rail runs like a belt around your post line , through line brackets , which act like belt loops , creating a continuous fence .
When tensioned , the 12.5 gauge high tensile wires contained in each rail will dissapate the force of impact along the entire stretch of continuous fence , allowing it to “ flex ” 6 " - 8 ".
Our tensioned , or continuous fence system , has many advantages .
• Stronger than rigid fence by far .
• Made for horse safety .
• Will not splinter or shatter .
• If posts are broken , fence rails remain intact for containment .
• Up to a limited lifetime warranty .
• Virtually maintenance free .
• Posts can be set 8 ' -12 ' apart allowing you to avoid rock or root .
• Easily contours to follow the terrain .
• Mix and match Flex Fence ® with coated wire or electric coated wire for your perfect combination .

A Note on Posts Not all posts are created equal . Flex Fence ® is made to last so your posts should be too ! We strongly recommend using CCA treated pine posts . As the name suggests , CCA ( Copper-Chromium- Arsenic ) posts do contain minute amounts of arsenic , but at such low levels that consumption will not harm your horses . Purchase posts with retention levels of at least 0.40 . This means that the post is rated for no rot for at least 30 years below the ground . Pressure treated posts are put into a vacuum that pulls the moisture out and then under pressure , which pulls the treatment deeply towards the center or heart of the post . See page 32 for information on available posts from RAMM .
An important note on installation …
Corner and end post assemblies are the backbone of your fence . Each wire exerts 250 lbs . of pressure on the corner / end post . For 4 rails of 525 Plus , that means 3,000 lbs . of “ pull ” exerted on that post .
Note :
• Use round posts
• Rail is strongest facing inward toward animals
• Inset corner posts . Do not install inline with line posts

The corner and end posts must be installed according to our installation instructions . Failure to do so will often result in a fence which cannot properly hold the tension . Following RAMM ’ s installation instructions will keep your fence taut over its lifetime .
“ H ” - bracing should not be used if there are more than 6 total wires ( remember … 3 wires per rail ). For safety purposes , we recommend that twitch wire never be used in combination with any of our fence systems for horses .
