Q & A with RAMM
Electric Fence
5 rails of Shockline
If branches or limbs fall on
my fence, will it create a fire?
Our fences are made to be paired with
a low impedance fence charger or
energizer. That simply means that the
charger pulsates rather than staying
constantly ‘on’ keeping your fence
system safer from risk of a fire.
What are the most important
things to remember with
Electric Fencing?
Keep your electric on at all times.
Check your fence lines with a fence
tester and be sure grass and debris are
not touching your bottom rails. Be sure
to keep any fallen limbs or branches off
your fence rails which can short out
your fence. Our RAMM staff can give
you helpful tips on keeping your system
up and running smoothly. Be sure to ask
about electric fence signs to alert people
to your fence.
How do I know if my
Electric Fence is working?
The easiest way to know if your fence is
working is to test your fence lines with a fence
tester. There are several kinds to choose from
and they do all the work for you! Another
great tool is a fence alert. Simply hang it on
a rail that you can easily see, and it will blink
if power is off. It’s a simple yet good way to be
sure your fence is on at all times.
through RAMM Fence. Our experienced
staff are here to help for the lifetime of
your Pro-Tek electric fence.
We recommend following manufacturers
installation instructions and keeping your
electric fence on at all times. Be sure to
have at least one set of ground rods per
paddock. More may be required with
larger areas or dry conditions.
How much does it cost
to run my Electric fence?
The cost is minimal. Your electricity is only
used for the blinking light on the charger and
when your horse comes in contact with the
fence. In most cases, once your horses know
the electric is on, they stay away from your
fence.
Can I call with questions
after I purchase?
Absolutely! This is one part of the exceptional
value received when purchasing products
