PEACE - YU NA CHOI

Peace,

For a word so deserving

Yet under this society,

It never finds its light.

An America - once shining its bold colors of

Red, White, and Blue,

They all stood together

At the flag that declared our independence.

In 2016, we stand more divided than ever

Trembling in fear of

Bigots and Racists,

Boycotts and Protests - violation of our rights.

We’re given a name, by which we are classified

Black or White?

Christian or Jew?

Republican or Democrat?

But no, we are not humans of color,

Of religion,

Of political party,

We are simply human beings.

United as one race.

What have we become?

For we have shamed those that fought for our

Republic, where we the people

Have the power - the power for change.

A society gone mad,

Forgetting the greatness our country was built upon

Blinded by words of the media

Shattering bits of hope and visions for our future

What can we do?

For we at war with our vices,

Reunite

Stand tall,

Be heard.

Peace

A 5 letter word

To which we must abide by

Be at Peace

With our Neighbors,

Our Friends and Our Foes

For it shall find us a better man, And a better tomorrow

An inevitable struggle for the human race For an act so great May there be peace to all And to all a good night.

Shalom
